The asking price is not what buying costs. On top of it come the regional transfer tax — which is not the same in Madrid as in Catalonia — plus the notary, the land registry and the paperwork agency. Every figure here cites the article of the Spanish official gazette behind it, and a calculator adds them up for you.
Resale · Valencia Region
Notary, registry and paperwork are indicative ranges, not fixed fees.
No purchase tax changes because you are a non-resident. What changes is the future sale and the non-resident income tax withholding.

No two purchases are the same. A specialist reviews your case and tells you where you stand before you commit to anything.
Resale property: transfer tax, set by each autonomous region. It is the big item and the one that varies most — between 6% and 13% depending on where you buy and for how much.
New build: 10% VAT — a national tax, identical across the fifteen common-regime regions — or 7% IGIC in the Canary Islands, plus stamp duty, which on a purchase only appears here.
In both cases: notary, land registry and paperwork agency. Notary and registry follow a regulated scale that rises with the value; the agency sets its own price. A valuation is only needed if there is a mortgage.

Every rate is checked against the consolidated text of the Spanish official gazette, article by article. The Basque Country and Navarre have their own foral system and we publish no rate for them: ask us and we will check their legislation directly.
Each has its own page with the reliefs and reduced rates it offers, article by article. They are where our estate agency network is and where most purchases are signed.
